He loved peace. And hemp is a barbiturate, that changes a person's thinking process like that.
"Recreational users report that a barbiturate high gives them feelings of relaxed contentment and euphoria." -Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbiturate
This is why I love the internet; I learn something new everytime I visit!
Strangely, I think this explains a lot...
If it was good enough for Abe, it's good enough for me.
So why wouldn't he have been able to send that letter?
Abraham Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 and pronounced dead April 15, 1865... if Matthias Hohner founded Hohner in 1857, Lincoln had 8 years to play one.
He smoked Hemp. CBD, which is an antipsychoactive ingredient and low in THC.
Not MJ variant which is loaded with THC and low in CBD.
So he was only kinda stoned and less of a psycho? while doing it.
Lincoln didn't die until April of 1865 - so
Dock ~ why don't you think he couldn't have gotten one in those 8 years?
even george washington ordered for hemp to be grown on his plantation.
I think he was too busy with other things.
C'mon.!
Another de-bunk site supports this as a hoax . . . http://is.gd/jlac
Even though I don't necessarily believe this because it is far to easy to fabricate, yours isn't much of a valid dissuasion because since when did something not being specifically sold in the US keep a president from getting it if he really wanted to?
that hemp can be handled by even the president of the United States. So Why all
the busts for hemp smokers? It all goes to a Federal Government that supports itself
with its insane war on drugs. Hells bells when are they going to outlaw liquor again.

I just hate it when people go off half-informed, or worse...
Whether or not that's true, I still hold a lot of respect for Lincoln, and now that I've read this quote from him, that respect has greatly increased.
Gotta love a man who loves his hemp.
"Concerning the Lincoln rumor, the source of this one was supposed to be a letter from Abe to the Honner Harmonica Company that was posted on the wall of their museum in Germany. I later saw a letter from the curator of the museum denying that the letter existed."
Don Wirtshafter, a leading expert on Cannabis, wrote about it:
"Concerning the Lincoln rumor, the source of this one was supposed to be a letter from Abe to the Honner Harmonica Company that was posted on the wall of their museum in Germany. I later saw a letter from the curator of the museum denying that the letter existed."
Too bad this quote can't be confirmed, though.
I personally am outraged, Lincon breaking the sacred vow of drug free America! (evil drugs only) i say we remove his status as a good president as we did with Phelps as a good role model. that will teach future presidents to smoke pot while in the white house!
/ill informed sarcastic rant.
dumb butts
When did laws start telling us what we can or can't do, regardless of our activity's effect on others?
Laws are made to keep the peace. My friend Mary Jane brings peace, too. So where's the problem?
Americans don't like a couple of lazy Mexicans, suddenly the drug is bad. The drug will make you kill your parents. The drug will fry your brain and turn you into a vegetable.
Make tobacco illegal. Make alcohol illegal. They're both lousy compared to a good bowl.
We need more people to join the fight for legalization.
"Some of my finest hours have been spent on my back veranda, smoking hemp and observing as far as my eye can see." - Thomas Jefferson
For those of you who are saying hemp can't be smoked or has no effect.
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp
"Hemp (from Old English hænep, see cannabis (etymology)) is the common name for plants of the entire genus Cannabis, although the term is often used to refer only to Cannabis strains cultivated for industrial (non-drug) use."
Check out the "THC in hemp" heading for more details on the different growing methods used in industrial and recreational hemp.
and he definitely inhaled and so did Bill Clinton
legalize it! i totally will if i ever am president again...
